Give and Take

Small Talk:

According to newspaper reports, a township mayor, through junior high school principals, distributed omamori amulets to students, claiming it was to ensure their success in exams. However, the mayor was preparing to run for county magistrate at the time, this action sparked widespread criticism.

According to "the Basic Education Act" and "the Civil Service Neutrality Act", this candidate's action is not permitted.

For a long time, some politicians in Taiwan have set the worst example, especially during elections, repeatedly extending their political influence into schools. Despite the Ministry of Education's repeated emphasis on strict adherence to neutrality in school management, some unscrupulous candidates disregard the law for their own benefit, which is an insult to a democratic nation.
