Stories of Education in Taiwan:
In Taiwan, Labor Day used to be a holiday only for workers, while teachers had to continue working. This meant that working parents could enjoy a peaceful holiday without having to take care of kids. For example, they could go to the movies, watch a baseball game, or have a nice meal together....
Starting in 2026, teachers will also be able to take Labor Day off. Because of this, working parents with children will no longer be able to enjoy a peaceful holiday as before.
Actually, isn't the same true for teachers with children? Even though they have a holiday on Teacher's Day, they still need to take care of their own children!
